We have been building business and personal websites since 1998. One of our overriding concerns through the years was that the system had to be fairly easy for a client to maintain their own website, if they chose to. For the client who's needs are minimum and want an extremely affordable option, we have a very light weight and easy to build and work with solution called Hugo. This can save both time and money on the build and maintenance cost.
If a client has a need for a robust, multipage website with a lot of functionality, we will typically build with WordPress. It does take a littlle longer to setup and build, but it is the largest chosen website tool in use today. Over 50% of all websites are built with it and over 80% of small business websites use it. Although we have tested many other Content Management Systems over the years for building custom websites, WordPress usually wins the race - especially since it can be used to create almost anything: ecommerce, memberships, etc..
It is rare, when a client asks for a particular functionality that does not already exist to immediately download, install, and implement. For any functionality that doesn't exist, we have our own WordPress developer on staff to address those situations.

We tend to choose either Divi or Breakdance for most projects due to their ease of use, as well as the ability to easily teach our clients how to manage their own websites with minimum instruction.
We can work with the major online website builders like Wix and Squarespace, but over the long term, owning your code and website is always a better solution, in our opinion, because you have the most control and flexibility to design and build what you want with almost no limitations. And if you decide to do a website rebuild, it's very easy to accomplish with WordPress.
